Ceramics & tiles — first-quality porcelain, inspected carton by carton
Egypt's ceramic industry draws on domestic feldspar, kaolin and silica and on low-cost natural gas, and has grown into one of the larger tile producers in the Mediterranean basin; for formats or finishes outside the Egyptian production range, Egypt Globe Group sources from qualified Chinese lines under the same inspection regime. The lead product is full-body porcelain floor tile, 60 × 60 cm polished, ISO 13006 group BIa (dry-pressed, water absorption ≤ 0.5 %), supplied as Class A first quality with CE marking.
Tile contracts fail on sorting, not on chemistry: a lot that mixes shade batches, calibres or second-quality pieces into first-quality cartons costs the installer more than the tile. Many suppliers ship on the factory's own grading. EGG's QA division re-inspects the lot at the packing line and at the port — shade and calibre code per carton, dimensional check per ISO 10545-2, visual surface check per ISO 10545-2 at 1 m — and issues an inspection report and test certificate before the Bill of Lading. Lots outside the contractual class are rejected at the loading port, not re-sorted into a lower class.
