Export Record

Egypt Globe Group has shipped more than 2 million tonnes of Egyptian salt on more than 100 chartered vessels — HS 2501 bulk de-icing salt plus washed, milled and packed grades — from Egyptian ports since 2015, every lot certified before the Bill of Lading.

01

A shipped record, not a capability statement

Most export pages describe what a supplier could do. This one sets out what has actually loaded and sailed. Since 2015 Egypt Globe Group has shipped more than 2 million tonnes of Egyptian salt from Egyptian ports — salt alone, before any other commodity in the group's catalogue — on more than 100 chartered bulk vessels and on scheduled container services.

That record is continuous. There has been cargo on the water in every year since the first fixture, through the 2020 contraction and the freight disruption that followed, and the programme is running at its highest cadence to date.

The tonnage is reconciled against three independent sources: the bills of lading, the customs export register and the commercial invoice series. Where the three disagreed, the bill of lading governed. Discharge ports, buyer names, voyage dates and commercial terms are commercially confidential and are not published.

The 2 million tonnes counts only cargoes shipped under Egypt Globe Group's own name. Counting added-value processing and supply to other exporters as well, the group has produced and supplied more than 10 million tonnes of salt in total.

02

What ships

The bulk programme is Egyptian salt for road de-icing, declared under HS 2501, drawn from two origins the group controls: sea salt from the North Sinai coast and rock salt from Siwa and the Qattara Depression. Rock salt is guaranteed at a minimum 97.00 % NaCl. Alongside the bulk cargoes, washed, milled and packed grades ship in containers for food, chemical and specialty buyers.

The de-icing catalogue lists the SKUs those tenders are quoted against.

Frequently asked questions

How much salt has Egypt Globe Group actually shipped?
More than 2 million tonnes of Egyptian salt since 2015, loaded from Egyptian ports — salt alone, before any other commodity in the group's catalogue. The record is reconciled against bills of lading, the customs export register and the commercial invoice series, and it is the figure quoted to buyers and banks. There has been cargo on the water in every year since the first fixture. That figure counts only cargoes shipped under Egypt Globe Group's own name; including added-value processing and supply to other exporters, the group has produced and supplied more than 10 million tonnes of salt in total.
What size cargoes does Egypt Globe Group ship?
Bulk parcels have ranged from about 4,350 tonnes to 9,650 tonnes per vessel, with the recent programme settling around 5,000–8,000 tonnes on Handysize tonnage. Smaller quantities of washed, milled and packed salt ship in containers from 20 tonnes upward. The catalogue MOQ is 240 MT FCL, and bulk vessels are quoted from 2,000 MT.
What product is shipped?
Predominantly Egyptian bulk salt for road de-icing, declared under HS 2501, sourced as sea salt from the North Sinai coast and rock salt from Siwa and the Qattara Depression. Washed, milled and packed grades ship in containers alongside the bulk programme. Grade, NaCl content, moisture and sizing are set per contract and certified per lot.
Which vessels have carried Egypt Globe Group cargoes?
More than 100 chartered bulk vessels have carried Egypt Globe salt; a roster of names appears on this page. Several are repeat charters across multiple seasons — Pretty Nelly, Lady Jasmine, Mody M, Amany Queen, Lady Farida and Island Star among them — which reflects continuity of tonnage rather than one-off fixtures. Individual voyages are not dated or attributed to a destination or a counterparty.
How is quality certified on each shipment?
Every lot is sampled at the loading port and released on a Certificate of Analysis before the Bill of Lading is issued. A lot that falls outside the contractual specification is rejected at the loading port, never re-graded or renegotiated. Independent pre-shipment inspection and witness testing by TÜV Austria, SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas is available on any shipment, and third-party analysis certificates form part of the record.
Are destinations and buyers published?
No. Discharge ports, buyer names and commercial terms are not published. The recent de-icing programme has run predominantly to EU destinations, and cargoes have also moved to other European and West African markets, but individual voyages are not attributed. Reference details can be discussed under NDA with a serious enquiry.
