Safaga (UN/LOCODE EGSGA) is Egypt's Red Sea mid-coast port, historically Egypt's primary phosphate export hub (via the Abu Tartour mining concession). As of 2026 the port is undergoing major expansion under the Noatum Ports Safaga Terminal project (AD Ports Group / Noatum subsidiary), securing ~USD 115 million in financing in February 2026 to bring a new multi-purpose terminal online in H2 2026.
