With ~14 m draft at primary berths and full-service infrastructure, Alexandria serves vessels from Handysize through Panamax with selective Kamsarmax handling. Alexandria handles sub-Panamax rock-salt cargoes, cement export shipments, fertilizer, gypsum and container cargo. For the largest rock-salt vessels (Panamax+) the deeper-draft adjacent El Dekheila (17–20 m) is preferred. For Bardawil sea salt, Al-Arish (14 m, upgraded 2026) is closer to source. For ULCV / 22 m-draft requirements use Port Said East.
