Q: What is the minimum order for bulk salt from Egypt?

From 240 MT for a containerised (FCL) programme up to 65,000 MT bulk vessels, shipped FOB, CIF or CFR from seven Egyptian deep-water ports: Damietta, Alexandria, El Dekheila, Port Said East, Ain Sokhna, Al-Arish and Adabiya.

Q: What is the difference between Egyptian sea salt and rock salt?

Sea salt is solar-evaporated in the North Sinai (El-Arish / Bardawil) and Red Sea coastal pans. Rock salt is mined halite from the Siwa Oasis and Qattara Depression inland deposits. Both are supplied as industrial, de-icing and food grades; the grade, not the source, sets the specification.

Q: Which de-icing standards can Egyptian road salt be supplied to?

EN 16811-1 (EU), ASTM D632 (US), BS 3247 (UK), GOST 13830 (CIS) and SS-EN 16811-1 (Nordic), as bulk rock or sea road salt in the grain bands each standard defines.

Q: Do you supply food-grade and pharmaceutical salt?

Yes. Food-grade salt is produced under ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 / HACCP, including iodised table salt, Fleur de Sel and reduced-sodium blends. Pharmaceutical-grade NaCl is supplied at USP / BP / EP purity of 99.5% or higher for IV saline, dialysis and API manufacture.

Q: What is industrial salt used for, and how is it specified?

Chlor-alkali and PVC feedstock, water treatment and softening, oilfield drilling and leather tanning. Industrial grades carry strict iron and sulphate limits; pool and water-treatment salt is supplied to NSF/ANSI 60.

Egypt’s geography supports both salt types. The two are not interchangeable: rock salt carries the purity floor for chemical, food and pharmaceutical use; sea salt carries the volume for de-icing, industrial and water-treatment tenders. Sinai Sea Salt

Solar-evaporated from North Sinai (El-Arish / Bardawil) and the Red Sea coast at Ain Sokhna. ~2,700 kWh/m² annual irradiance delivers raw 94–97 % NaCl, washed 97.5–98 % and double-washed ≥ 99 %, screened per lot to EN 16811-1 Type 1 / Type 2, ASTM D632 and BS 3247 gradings with moisture held to the tender tolerance (kiln-dried ≤ 1.5 %, natural 3–4 %).

Mined from Siwa Oasis and the Qattara Depression — halite deposits formed 30+ million years ago, free of marine contaminants. Guaranteed minimum 97.00 % NaCl on every grade with calcium and magnesium each ≤ 0.40 %, sulphate ≤ 0.80 % and insolubles ≤ 0.50 %, tested at the mine-site laboratory on every production lot and re-tested at the port.
