Pre-shipment inspection coordination at all 7 Egyptian export ports — TÜV Austria, SGS, Intertek primary partners (all ILAC + IAF accredited). Cost typically 0.3-0.5% of FOB value, 3-7 day lead time.
Most destination markets — and every L/C-financed shipment — require independent pre-shipment inspection (PSI) before vessel sailing. We coordinate the inspection body's site visit at the loading port and the cargo's conformity to the tender spec.
We work principally with three accredited inspection bodies (all ILAC + IAF accredited, ISO/IEC 17020 + 17025 compliant):
TÜV Austria — primary partner

SGS — global network
- Worldwide coverage with deep Egyptian + African + Asian destination network
- SGS Egypt covers all 7 export ports
- Standard partner for Kenyan KEBS PVoC, Indian BIS, Chinese GACC conformity
- Strong specialty: food-grade salt + agricultural commodities + Phytosanitary coordination
Intertek — US + UK + ECOWAS specialist
- Strong on US (ASTM, AASHTO, FDA) + UK (UKCA, BS) + Nigeria (SONCAP) + Kenya (KEBS PVoC) + Saudi Arabia (SABER)
- Intertek Cairo handles East African + GCC + Far East programmes
- Strong specialty: pre-shipment inspection for state DOT / federal highway agency procurement (US/UK)
Bureau Veritas + Cotecna — optional / buyer preference
- Bureau Veritas for buyer preference or specific French / Italian destinations
- Cotecna for select West African destinations (Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon)
- Buyer confirms inspection body in PO / Sales Contract (default: TÜV Austria for EU + GCC, Intertek for US/UK/Africa, SGS for Indian Ocean + Far East)
- Inspection appointment booked at Egyptian port of loading 3-7 days before vessel ETA
- Visual + sampling inspection of stockpile or container batches
- Lab analysis of representative samples — chemistry, particle size, moisture, heavy metals as applicable per spec
- Certificate of Inspection issued before B/L stamped by carrier
- Sealed sample retention at inspection body for dispute reference (typically 6-12 months)
