El Dekheila Port — deep-water rock-salt and mineral bulk loading, Capesize-capable

El Dekheila (port code / UN/LOCODE EGEDK) is the deep-water terminal adjacent to Alexandria. With up to 20 m draft on the deepest berths, modern bulk infrastructure and Capesize-class capability, it is the primary loading port for large rock-salt vessels, heavy bulk and mineral cargo bound for long-haul lanes. It is Egypt Globe Group's primary loading port for Siwa Oasis and Qattara Depression rock salt — guaranteed ≥ 97.00 % NaCl, sampled at the mine laboratories, trucked to the Dekheila stockyard and re-verified by the port QC team before the Bill of Lading.

Rock salt arrives via truck from Siwa (~750 km west, truck consolidation in the Alexandria region) and Qattara (~600 km west), is stockpiled in the bulk yard by lot, then loaded via conveyor and ship-loader. At 10,000+ MT/day a 30,000 MT Handymax loads in 3 days.

Comparison with Alexandria proper

Alexandria (EGALY)
~14 m draft, older infrastructure, max Panamax with some draft limitations
El Dekheila (EGEDK)
up to 20 m draft, modern infrastructure, Capesize-capable

For Egyptian bulk shipments above 50,000 DWT, El Dekheila is the preferred Alexandria-region loading point.
