Bulk de-icing salt — Egyptian rock & sea road salt, specified to the standard you tender against
De-icing salt is sodium chloride graded for winter road maintenance: a controlled sieve band so the spreader meters it evenly, a minimum NaCl content so melt capacity is predictable, and a moisture limit so the stockpile does not cake before the first frost. Egypt Globe Group supplies bulk de-icing salt from two geologically distinct sources. Siwa Oasis and Qattara Depression rock salt is crystalline halite mined at ≥ 97.00 % NaCl with naturally low calcium and magnesium, shipped at its natural moisture of 1.0–1.5 % or kiln-dried to ≤ 0.5 % (≤ 0.25 % on request). North Sinai (El-Arish / Bardawil) and Red Sea (Ain Sokhna) sea salt is solar-evaporated at 94–97 % NaCl raw, then washed and kiln-dried to ≥ 97 % for Type 1 tenders, or shipped undried at 3–4 % moisture as EN 16811-1 Type 2 stockpile salt.
Every major regional road-salt standard is covered by a dedicated SKU: EN 16811-1 Grades A / B / C in Type 1 (kiln-dried, E535 anti-caking ≤ 80 ppm) and Type 2 (natural moisture, no additive), BS 3247:2011, ASTM D632 Grades 1 and 2 with AASHTO M-143, SS-EN 16811-1 Nordic pre-wetting-compatible salt, GOST 13830 Grades I and II, and pre-wetted NaCl / MgCl₂ brine-treated variants. Cargoes load FOB / CFR / CIF from 240 MT containerised to 65,000 MT vessel parcels.
Winter-maintenance contracts fail on cargoes that arrive at 3 % moisture when the tender said 1 %, or at 95 % NaCl when spreader calibration assumed 97 %; many regional exporters are inconsistent lot-to-lot. Egypt Globe Group was incorporated in 2014 with a Quality Assurance division at its nucleus, on-site laboratories at the Siwa and Qattara mines and the Sinai and Red Sea saltworks, and port-side QC teams at every loading berth. Specification is guaranteed at the port of loading and is binding under the sales contract; a lot outside its CoA is rejected at the port, never re-graded or renegotiated.
