Cotton — Egyptian Giza extra-long staple, African medium staple and Ne30 ring-spun yarn with HVI certificate

Egyptian Giza cotton is the reference extra-long staple fibre for fine-count spinning, grown in the Nile Delta and classed, arbitrated and tested by CATGO (Cotton Arbitration and Testing General Organization) under the supervision of the Egyptian cotton trade bodies. Egypt Globe Group supplies Giza 45 Grade 1 and other Giza ELS varieties in 220 kg bales, African medium-staple cotton from Sudan and Burkina Faso for blending, and 100 % cotton carded ring-spun yarn Ne30 from Egyptian and Indian mills.

Cotton claims arise from staple, micronaire and strength falling short of the HVI certificate, contamination, and bale-weight shortfall. The Quality Assurance division verifies every lot against HVI results, checks bale weights and moisture at the port and issues the CoA before the Bill of Lading. Lots outside the contracted specification are rejected at the loading port.
