Industrial chemicals — chlor-alkali, soda ash and mineral acids with a per-lot CoA
Egypt's chlor-alkali industry converts Egyptian salt into caustic soda, chlorine and hydrochloric acid at membrane-cell plants on the Mediterranean and Red Sea coasts, and its sulphuric-acid capacity sits alongside the phosphate complexes. Egypt Globe Group supplies this production — caustic soda flakes 98 % (membrane grade) and liquid 48–50 %, soda ash dense 99.2 % (light on request), sulphuric acid 98 %, hydrochloric acid 33–35 %, sodium hypochlorite 12 % and ground calcium carbonate 98 % from Suez — and adds re-export from China, Turkey, the EU and the USA when volume or grade requires it. Sodium sulphate (Na₂SO₄ ≥ 99 %) is supplied on request.
The lot-to-lot problem in this category is assay drift: caustic flakes whose carbonate rises in storage, soda ash that picks up moisture and chloride, acid with iron above a catalyst limit. Egypt Globe Group's Quality Assurance division — at the nucleus of the group since incorporation in 2014 — re-samples every lot at the loading port, runs the ASTM assay in the port laboratory and issues the CoA before the B/L. Lots outside specification are rejected at the port, never re-graded or renegotiated.
