Scrap is the lowest-cost charge for an electric-arc furnace or a secondary aluminium smelter, and the easiest cargo to misdescribe. A buyer of HMS 1&2 80:20 pays for a defined mix of ISRI grades, a thickness floor and freedom from radioactive sources and contamination; a buyer of baled UBC pays for clean can scrap at a chargeable bale density. Egypt Globe Group supplies both from US, EU and Egyptian sources through Egyptian ports, with Basel Annex IX compliance documented for every movement.
The catalogue lines are HMS 1&2 Steel Scrap 80/20 (heavy melting scrap for EAF furnaces, radiation-free certificate and SGS inspection) and Aluminum Scrap UBC Baled (used beverage can scrap for secondary smelting, Basel Annex IX and chemical analysis). Grade dilution with light iron is the regional failure. Egypt Globe Group's QA division, built in since incorporation, grades every lot visually and photographically against the ISRI definition, screens it for radiation and weighs it at the port before the Bill of Lading; a lot that fails grading or the radiation survey is rejected at the loading port.
