Bulk de-icing salt suppliers — wholesale Egyptian road salt for highway authorities and distributors

Egypt Globe Group ships bulk de-icing road salt to highway authorities, municipal contractors and salt distributors across Europe, the UK, North America, the Nordic countries and the CIS, with a dedicated SKU for every major regional standard so a multi-territory fleet can procure from a single verified source. Two Egyptian origins are offered. Siwa Oasis / Qattara Depression rock salt is mined at ≥ 97.00 % NaCl, denser (bulk density 950–1,200 kg/m³) and drier (1.0–1.5 % natural moisture, kiln-dried to ≤ 0.5 % or ≤ 0.25 % on request), the choice for continental climates and uncovered stockpiles. North Sinai / Red Sea sea salt is washed and kiln-dried to ≥ 97 % NaCl at ≤ 1.0–1.5 % moisture for Type 1 tenders, or supplied undried at ≥ 94–95 % NaCl and 3–4 % moisture as EN 16811-1 Type 2 stockpile salt for Mediterranean and southern European buyers with covered storage.

Wholesale buyers of road salt are exposed to one risk above all others: a regional exporter whose second cargo does not match the first. Egypt Globe Group has run a Quality Assurance division since incorporation in 2014, with on-site laboratories at the mines and saltworks and port-side QC teams at every berth. Specification is guaranteed at the port of loading and binding under the sales contract; a lot outside its CoA is rejected at the port, never re-graded or renegotiated, and laycan is managed with documented NOR and SOF.

Sea salt vs rock salt for de-icing

Rock salt
≥ 97 % NaCl on the natural mined product, 1.0–1.5 % moisture without drying, higher bulk density and therefore more tonnes per hold; suited to uncovered stockpiles, continental winters (CIS, Eastern Europe, Nordic) and long storage.
Sea salt, kiln-dried (Type 1)
≥ 97 % NaCl at ≤ 1.0–1.5 % moisture, bulk density 900–1,150 kg/m³, free-flowing in maritime climates (UK, France, Spain, Italy) where stockpile drainage is adequate.
Sea salt, natural (Type 2)
3–4 % moisture, no additive, the lowest-cost fill for covered depots in Mediterranean tenders.
Pre-wetted
NaCl brine (sea and rock variants) or MgCl₂ + NaCl brine on rock salt for pre-treatment fleets working below −10 °C; the dry-salt base is Grade A 0/6.3. See pre-wetted de-icing salt — when it is needed.
