Nitrogen fertilizers — Egyptian gas-based production, verified lot by lot

Egypt's nitrogen industry runs on domestic natural gas: ammonia-urea complexes at Damietta, Abu Qir and Ain Sokhna and nitrate plants at Helwan and Aswan (AlexFert, Misr Fertilizer, Helwan Fertilizers, KIMA) give the country one of the largest urea export positions in the region. Egypt Globe Group exports the full range — granular and prilled urea 46 % N, ammonium sulphate 21 % N + 24 % S, CAN 26 % N, porous-prilled ammonium nitrate 34.5 % N and UAN 32 liquid — in bulk vessels, FIBC, 50 kg bags and ISO tanks.

Nitrogen cargoes fail at destination for predictable reasons: biuret above 1.0 %, moisture above 0.5 % that cakes a pile into slabs, prill size outside the blending window, nitrate shipped without the correct UN classification. Many regional exporters rely on the producer's certificate alone. Egypt Globe Group's Quality Assurance division has been part of the group since incorporation: the port-side QC team draws a composite sample of every lot, analyses it against the contract and issues the CoA before the B/L. Out-of-specification lots are rejected at the loading port, never re-graded.
