Chlor-Alkali & Chemical

Chlor-alkali electrolysis, PVC, caustic soda manufacture, chemical feedstock with strict SO₄ / Ca / Mg caps — Siwa rock salt and vacuum-evaporated sea salt, membrane-cell grade SO₄ ≤ 0.08 %, per-lot CoA before B/L.

01

Salt for chlor-alkali and chemical manufacturing

Chlor-alkali producers (electrolysis of brine to chlorine + caustic soda + hydrogen), PVC manufacturers, soda-ash plants and chemical synthesis operations are the largest consumers of industrial-grade salt worldwide. Egypt Globe Group ships chlor-alkali-grade Egyptian salt from two sources: Siwa Oasis / Qattara Depression crystalline rock salt (≥ 97.00 % NaCl, lump and coarse for brine wells and low-spec electrolysis) and vacuum-evaporated North Sinai / Red Sea sea salt refined to membrane-cell purity (NaCl ≥ 99.3 %, SO₄ ≤ 0.08 %) for chemical plants across the Mediterranean, MENA, Far East and Africa.

A membrane cell does not forgive variation: a single lot with sulphate or hardness above the brine-purification design point shortens membrane life and raises power consumption for months. Many regional suppliers ship from changing pans without a fixed assay window. EGG's Quality Assurance division samples every evaporator batch and every mine lot, and the port laboratory confirms NaCl, Ca, Mg, SO₄ and insolubles per lot before the Certificate of Analysis and B/L are issued. A lot outside the CoA is rejected at the loading port — never re-graded.
