L/C-Compliant Salt Documentation — Full B/L Set From Egypt

L/C-compliant document set for bulk Egyptian salt export — Proforma + Commercial Invoice + Packing List + B/L + COO + Phytosanitary + CoA. Bank-side checks, common rejection reasons, how to avoid them.

Letters of credit are the workhorse payment mechanism for bulk salt exports. If the L/C document set isn't prepared correctly, your bank refuses funds — even after the salt arrives. This guide walks the full Egyptian salt L/C document set + how we avoid bank rejection.

02

The full document set

  1. Commercial Invoice (×3 originals) — buyer name matching L/C exactly, qty/unit price/Incoterm matching L/C
  2. Packing List (×3) — container/pallet breakdown, net + gross weights, marks + numbers per buyer spec
  3. Bill of Lading (×3 originals + 3 copies) — Clean on Board, Freight Prepaid/Collect per Incoterm, consignment per L/C
  4. Certificate of Origin (×3) — Egyptian Chamber of Commerce stamped; EUR1 for EU destinations under Pan-Euro-Mediterranean rules
  5. Phytosanitary Certificate — Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture (where required — typically food / agricultural / animal-feed salt)
  6. Certificate of Analysis (×3) — Egypt Globe QC Lab actual measurements + pass/fail per parameter; optional independent TÜV Austria / SGS / Intertek / Bureau Veritas / TUV at 0.3-0.5% of FOB
  7. Insurance Certificate (CIF only) — Lloyd's of London or Misr Insurance, 110% of CIF value, ICC (A) + war + strikes
03

Common bank rejection reasons + our prevention

  1. Mis-spelled buyer name → we copy/paste from L/C character-by-character
  2. Quantity mismatch Invoice/Packing List/B/L → 3-way cross-check before issue
  3. Late shipment B/L → we plan vessel sailing 5-7 days before L/C latest-ship-date
  4. Stale documents (presented >21 days post-B/L per UCP 600) → we courier originals within 48 hours of B/L
  5. Missing CoA stamps → every page wet-stamped + signed
  6. Missing partial-shipment clause → we confirm with L/C upfront
  7. B/L type mismatch (Order vs Straight) → must match L/C wording

Quality at the Core — verified supply from Egypt Globe Group

The analysis above is published by the export desk of Egypt Globe Group, an Egyptian B2B commodity house incorporated in 2014 with an internal Quality Assurance division at its nucleus. Across salt, cement and clinker, fertilizers, chemicals, industrial minerals, agro and metals, every lot is laboratory-tested at the port of loading and released on a Certificate of Analysis before the Bill of Lading; independent inspection by TÜV Austria, SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas is available on every consignment, and a lot outside specification is rejected at the port rather than renegotiated.

CommitmentWhat it means for the buyer
Zero tolerance on specification deviationNo re-grading or renegotiation after the fact — an out-of-spec lot does not load
Per-lot laboratory verificationCertificate of Analysis or Mill Test Certificate issued before the Bill of Lading
Independent third-party inspectionISO/IEC 17020 / 17025 bodies at any of seven Egyptian ports; retained samples held 90 days
Laycan and grading disciplineDocumented Notice of Readiness and Statement of Facts; sieve, assay and moisture verified per lot
