New Production Facility Inaugurated at Our Gamasa Plant
New production facility inaugurated at Egypt Globe Group's Gamasa plant — expanded capacity for salt processing, blending and bagging.
New production facility inaugurated at our Gamasa plant
Egypt Globe Group has commissioned a new production facility at its Gamasa plant on the Egyptian Mediterranean coast, adding capacity for salt processing, custom blending and 50 kg / 1 MT FIBC bagging.
What's new
Why Gamasa
Gamasa sits 60 km from Damietta port and 130 km from Port Said East, making it ideal for sea-salt processing destined for Mediterranean and African markets. The plant's proximity to Bardawil's sea-salt feedstock and Damietta's loading berths cuts inland trucking costs by ~25% versus a Cairo-based facility.
Capacity in numbers
| Metric | Pre-expansion | Post-expansion |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly processing | 30,000 MT | 50,000 MT |
| Bagging lines | 2 | 4 |
| Lab capacity | Daily QC | Per-batch CoA |
| Lead time (typical) | 4–6 weeks | 2–4 weeks |
What this means for buyers
Faster lead times, tighter spec control through on-site blending, and lower delivered cost on Mediterranean / African shipments. The expanded capacity is already booked through Q3 with confirmed tender awards from European de-icing buyers and East African chlor-alkali buyers.
